Obituary for Louis A. Stark

Niagara- Louis A. Stark, 94, of Niagara, Wisc., passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the Oscar G Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, Mich.
He was born December 15, 1927, in Niagara, Wisc., son of the late Herbert and Ida (Lindgren) Stark. Louis had been a lifelong resident of Niagara and a graduate of Niagara High School, class of 1947. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1952. Louis returned back to Niagara after his time in the service and was united in marriage to Barbara Badini on August 10, 1957. Following marriage, they continued to reside in Niagara. Louis worked for the Niagara Paper Mill for 46 ½ years as a lab tester, retiring in 1992. Alongside working at the Paper Mill, Louis owned and operated Stark Amusements. He started with cigarette and candy machines, then added jukeboxes, arcade games, foosball tables, and many other machines that could be found at your local bars.

He enjoyed his trips to the casino’s, bocce ball, watching his football teams, The Packers, WI Badgers, and MI State. He especially enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Stark; two sons, Daniel (Dorothy) Stark, West DePere, Wisc., and David Stark, Niagara, Wisc.; three daughters, Linda (Jim) Hoogland, Niagara, Wisc., Lori (Brad) Staedt, Iron Mountain Mich., and Mary (Jim) Stankevich, Niagara, Wisc.; grandchildren; Brittany (Tony), Emilie (Trevor), Courtney (Julian), Zachary, Mitchell, Jessica (Sam), Nicole (Aaron), Mason, Dominic, great-grandchildren; Ben, Eli, Warrick, Amorn, Lillian and one sister, Henrietta Frederick, Appleton, Wisc.

In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by one son, Hal Stark in 1963, and granddaughter, Kymberly Garvaglia.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the Jacobs Funeral Home-Niagara Chapel, Niagara, Wisc. The Memorial Service will be Saturday, 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Rev. Jim Danielson will officiate. Burial will take place in the Niagara Cemetery, Niagara, Wisc., in the spring.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home-Niagara Chapel, Niagara, Wisc., to honor Louis’ legacy of life.
