Obituary for Laura Lynn Ambriz (Noordhoff)

Kingsford – Laura Lynn (Noordhoff) Ambriz, 68, of Kingsford, Mich., passed away after a brief battle with leukemia on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Dickinson County Hospital in Iron Mountain.

Laura was born on August 19, 1952, in Oshkosh, Wisc., to Robert and Phyllis (Claassen) Noordhoff.
She was raised in Norway, Mich., where she graduated high school in 1970. After graduation, she attended Northern Michigan University. Laura married the love of her life, Jose Ambriz, on October 10, 1987, at the Kingdom Hall in Iron Mountain, Mich.

Laura was one who thought of how to show kindness in ways that others would never think to do. She enjoyed and loved people and life. During her brief illness, she made it a point to remain positive through it all. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Laura was comforted with the promise of the resurrection.

Laura is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jose Ambriz; her mother, Phyllis Noordhoff; two brothers, Doug Noordhoff and Gregg (Tina) Noordhoff; two sisters, Terry (Mike) Gregory and Amy (Bob) Davis; and her beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Noordhoff; brother, Tony Noordhoff; two sisters, Andrea Cousineau and Debby Noordhoff; and two nephews, Cory Cousineau and Boyd Cousineau.

The family wishes to offer a special thanks to Steve and Chris Bergfeld, Brian and Ryan Kleist, Dr. Morel, Dr. Schroeder, Dickinson County Hospital, Staff at Freidert Hospital, and the many friends who called, offered prayers for and with Laura and sent meals to the family.

In accordance with Laura’s wishes, private services will be held.
