Obituary for Larry Weston Juul

Iron Mountain- Larry Weston Juul, age 80, of Kingsford, MI passed away peacefully on July 20th, 2020. Larry was born on April 22nd, 1940 in Waukegan, IL and grew up in the Fox Lake, IL area. He was the son of the late Harold “Red” and Lucille Juul.

Larry graduated from Grant Community High School in Fox Lake, IL in 1958 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelors in Business Administration in 1963. Larry met his wife, Patricia, on a blind date at the University of Wisconsin and they were married on November 2nd, 1963. After spending six months in the Army National guard, Larry started his career at Shell Oil in Milwaukee, WI. In 1965, Larry joined his father in law and mentor, Percy Rosemurgy, in the Ford automobile business at Bessemer Auto Company in Bessemer, MI. After learning the “ins and outs”, Larry purchased Town & Country Sales Ford Dealership in Kingsford, MI in 1969. All those who knew Larry know he loved selling and servicing vehicles in his community. During his time as a Ford Dealer, he served on the Ford Dealer Advertising Board and the Ford National Dealer Council. He truly loved going to the “garage” everyday and celebrated an accomplished 51 years of business. Larry was a mentor to his two sons, Robert (The Motor Company, Marinette, WI) and Steven (Town & Country Sales, Kingsford, MI) as they joined the family business. They will continue to carry on Larry’s legacy in the automobile business as a hardworking, accomplished, fair businessman who always put the customers first.

Not only was Larry an accomplished businessman, but he loved being part of the greater communities in which he lived and worked. Larry served on multiple boards in Iron Mountain/Kingsford including President at The Chippewa Club, The First National Bank Board, and 678. Larry and Patricia also spent over 22 years in Fort Myers Beach in the winter, where Larry served on the Waterside Condo Association Board as President.

When not at work, Larry loved spending time on the golf course. He loved organizing weekly men’s groups and enjoyed the camaraderie of his golfing buddies. He was a member of Pine Grove Golf Course in Iron Mountain, MI and recently received his 50 year coin for his years of membership. He was also a long time member of Imperial Golf Course in Naples, FL.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Rosemurgy Juul. Sons, Robert (Judy) Juul of Marinette, WI and Steven (Tamara) Juul of Iron Mountain, MI; daughter, Jennifer (David) Sauld of Ann Arbor, MI; sisters, Carrie Lou (late Larry) Thomas, Linda (Dick) Nitz, Christie (Ron) Long, and Luann (John) Poll; grandchildren, Emily Hogoboom, Weston Juul, Trent Juul, David Juul, Danika Juul, Erika Sauld, Kate Sauld and Michael Sauld.

Larry will be truly missed by his family and friends for his kindness and love and not a single Badger or Packers game will be watched without thinking of him.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain, Mich.
