Obituary for Kenneth R. "Ken" Stohl

Iron Mountain – Kenneth “Ken” R. Stohl, Sr., 76, passed away from a battle with lung disease the morning of Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, WI surrounded by loving family.

Born April 28, 1947 in Iron Mountain, MI to the late David and Eileen (Koller) Stohl, Ken remained in his birthplace throughout his formative years and primary schooling. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 20 years from 1966 to his honorable discharge in 1986. After his first marriage gave him a junior and a step-daughter, Ken’s family grew again to include two new step-children when he married his high-school sweetheart Lynn (Bouffiou) Stohl on July 22, 1999 in Tampa, FL.

He retired from the civilian workforce in 2007. Ken stayed abreast of current events and had steadfast beliefs and opinions on politics, and he was always ready to debate the news of the day. If you came to him looking for advice, you could count on solid guidance: “Priorities. Priorities. Priorities.”

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Stohl of Iron Mountain, MI; son, Kenneth (Ann) Stohl, Jr., of Savannah, GA; two step-daughters, Dawn Michelle (Michael) Parkinson of Land O’ Lakes, FL and Angela Emond of Iron Mountain, MI; step-son, Kristopher (Megan) Lund of Seffner, FL; grandchildren, Matthew Stohl, Sarah Stohl, Sandra Sculli, Krystin Young, Jessica Young, Ryan Young, Nathan Lund, Zachary (Maria) Duby, Kristopher (Courtney) Lund, Jr., Brynn Lund, Justin Lund, Mia Cortese, Anthony Cortese, and Alexander Cortese; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Lou Flesch of Aurora, WI.; brother, Randy [Joan] Stohl of Iron Mountain, MI; and many other extended family.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to all caregivers from Maryhill Manor for the tender care given to Ken.
