Obituary for Kay Lynn Meyer (Powell)

Iron Mountain – Kay L. Meyer, 55, of Fence, Wisc., passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019, unexpectedly with her family by her side at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay, Wisc.

She was born on April 24, 1964, in Iron Mountain, Mich. the daughter of the late Kenneth and Carol (Olson) Powell of Goodman, Wisc. Kay graduated from Goodman-Armstrong High School class of 1982. She attended the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay where she graduated with a Bachelors’ degree in Forestry. Kay also went on to attend Nicolet College in Rhinelander, Wisc. and obtained a degree specializing in computers.

She married Glen Meyer on May 11, 1991, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Armstrong Creek, Wisc., together they moved to Fence, Wisc where she was a member of both the Catholic Church in Armstrong Creek and St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain.

Kay worked for the Goodman Veneer Mill, Goodman Bank, Khoury’s Unfinished Furniture for sixteen years and has been working at Systems Control, Iron Mountain, for the past ten years. While working at Systems, she became friends with many colleagues all over the country.

She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Glen, two sons, Grant, and Cole Meyer, Fence, Wisc.; one brother Bruce (Sharon) Powell, Bradley, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 20, 2019, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Armstrong Creek, Wisc. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 20, 2019, 12:00 PM at the church. Rev. Fr. Tim Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in Glenview Cemetery, Goodman, Wisc.

A memorial will be established in Kay’s memory.
