Obituary for Joyce Signe "Lolly" Vanderzeyden (Swanson)

Iron Mountain - Joyce S. Vanderzeyden, 86, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at ManorCare Nursing & Rehab., Kingsford, Mich.

She was born February 16, 1934, in Stephenson, Mich., daughter of the late William and Alice (Larson) Swanson. On July 25, 1981, in Fumee Creek, Mich., Joyce was united in marriage to Cornelis “Dutch” Vanderzeyden. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Norway Hospital and later for the Oscar G Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, Mich., until she retired in 1984.

Joyce enjoyed traveling, crocheting, knitting, and especially the time spent with family and friends.

Survivors include her loving husband of 39 years, Dutch; four sons, William (Trish) Kelly, Florence, Wis., Mike (Wanda) Kelly, Appleton, Wis., Greg Kelly, Vulcan, Wis., and Tom (Barb) Kelly, Waucedah, Wis.; two daughters, Patricia Faull, Norway, Mich., and Debbie Lorenzoni, Pembine, Wis.; Dutch’s son Cornelis Albert (Maririonette) Vanderzeyden, McMinnville, Ten.; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Johnny and Jimmy Swanson and four sisters, Gladys Engl, Doris Kenny, Lois Peterson, and Inez Klatt.

Visitation will be Monday, October 12, 2020, from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. Funeral Services will be Monday, 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Pembine Cemetery, Pembine, Wis.
