Obituary for John M. Rossato

Iron Mountain- John M. Rossato, 57, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay, Wis. John generously made the choice to Give Life by donating his organs as a registered donor.

He was born October 4, 1962, in Iron Mountain, Mich., son of the late Mario and Mary Lou (LaJeunesse) Rossato. John grew up in Iron Mountain and was a graduate of Iron Mountain High School, class of 1980. He married Julie Finendale on February 7, 1981. He worked for Louisiana Pacific as a Millwright for over 20 years. John also worked for Besse Forest Products, Gladstone, Mich. and the Midtown Mall, Iron Mountain.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and will be missed by his family and numerous friends.

Survivors include three sons, Jason (Rachael Kopp) Rossato, Roxboro, North Carolina, Matt Rossato and Tony (Simone) Rossato, both of Kingsford, Mich.; grandchildren, Alyssa Tramontin, Parker Rossato and Aria Rossato; one brother, Peter (Teresa) Rossato, Kingsford, Mich.; two sisters, Anne (John) Main, Green Bay, Wis., and Jane Rossato, Iron Mountain, Mich.; special uncle, Jim LaJeunesse; and special aunt, Marie “Sissy” LaJeunesse. John is further survived by his former wife, Julie Finendale; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents Mario and Mary Lou, his grandparents, uncles and aunts, and his former father-in-law, Robert “Red” Finendale.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 21, 2020, 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. Private family services will follow.

John’s family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at Aurora BayCare ICU3, the transplant team from UW Madison, and the doctors and nurses and staff at Dickinson County Hospital ICU, for providing compassionate care to John and treating the visiting family members with kindness during this most difficult time.
