Obituary for Joanne Aman (Carlson)
Kingsford-Joanne Aman, 74, of Kingsford, Mich., passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born February 1, 1946, in Iron Mountain, Mich., daughter of the late Ellsworth and Viola (Miller) Carlson. Joanne was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Kingsford schools. On September 3, 1971, in Iron Mountain, she was united in marriage to Gary Aman. Over the years Joanne has enjoyed garage sales, trips to the casino, and especially time spent with her family and friends.
Joanne is survived by one son, Eugene Aman, Iron Mountain, Mich.; one daughter, Andrea L. (James) Giliberto, Breitung Township, Mich.; three grandchildren, Amber (Seth Thompson) Hurkmans, Norway, Mich., Brandon (Felicia) Aman, Iron Mountain, Mich., and Brent Aman, Quinnesec, Mich.; four great-grandchildren, Trey, Owen, Carson and Keagen; one brother, Donald “Butch” (Eva) Carlson, Kingsford, Mich.; four sisters, Sue (Fran) Broeders, Hardwood, Mich., Donna (Carl) Gunter, Louisiana, Alice (Dave) Querio, Iron Mountain, Mich., and Lisa Carlson, Iron Mountain, Mich.; and her loving ex-husband, Gary Aman, Iron Mountain, Mich.; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patricia; one brother, Warren Carlson; one sister, Roxanne Geyer; and one granddaughter, Katelyn Nicole Blagec-Aman.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. A celebration of Joanne’s life will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Rev. James Danielson will officiate. Burial will be in Breitung Township Cemetery, Quinnesec, Mich.
