Obituary for JoAnn M. Johnson (Westergreen)
Iron Mountain- JoAnn M. Johnson, age 68, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.
She was born May 15, 1951, in Ironwood, Mich., daughter of the late William and Joan (Westergreen) Murra. JoAnn grew up in Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School. She married Larry Johnson on December 18, 1971 in Iron Mountain. JoAnn worked at the Dickinson County Library, Kmart for 23 years as Department Head, and Walmart for 7 years, prior to retiring.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, calligraphy, taking casino trips, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Larry Johnson, Iron Mountain; one son, Jeremy Johnson, Lake Odessa, Mich.; one daughter, Shawna Johnson, Ponte Verda, Florida; three brothers, Jason Murra, Escanaba, Mich., Bill Murra, Sagola, Mich. and Patrick (Helen) Murra, Iron Mountain; one sister, Diane (Dave) Warmuth, Iron Mountain, Mich.; and by four grandchildren, Riley, Cailyn, Ava and Evan.
In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by one brother, John Murra; and her twin sister, Mary.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. A celebration of life service will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Darryl Ditmer will officiate.
