Iron Mountain-Joan V. Dzekute, age 83, of Green Bay, Wis., formerly of Armstrong Creek, Wis., passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Crossroads West, Green Bay, Wis.
She was born March 17, 1935, in Armstrong Creek, Wis., daughter of the late Walter and Eleanor (Poplonski) Frydrych. Joan married Walter Dzekute on April 7, 1956, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Armstrong Creek, Wis. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2004. After being married they resided in Lombard, Ill., Naperville, Ill., Green Bay, Wis., before retiring to Kingsford, Mich. in 1994.
Joan enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as hobbies which included crocheting, crafts, growing flowers and plants.
Survivors include three sons, Brian (Julie) Dzekute, Woodbury, Minn., Terry Dzekute, Fond du Lac, Wis., and Scott (Amy) Dzekute, Madison, Wis.; one daughter, Maxine Solboe, De Pere, Wis.; seven grandchildren; Jonathen, Katherine, Jennifer, Craig, Kimberly, Christopher and Ian.; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Richard (Janice) Frydrych, Armstrong Creek, Wis., Carl (Chris) Frydrych, Armstrong Creek, Wis., Tom Frydrych, Florence Wis., and Michael Frydrych, Armstrong Creek, Wis.; three sisters, Mary Ann (Bob) Dzekute, Oak Creek, Wis., Fran (Jerry) Fatla, Clarendon Hills, Ill., Diane (Tom) Kukowski, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Walter, Joan was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Frydrych; and two sisters, Lillian Mahowski, and Carol Steihm.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. Funeral services will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Ray Valerio will officiate. Burial will take place in Fence Cemetery, Fence, Wis. in the Spring.
