Obituary for Jeffrey M. Hickey
Florence- Jeffrey M. Hickey, 67, of Commonwealth, Wis., passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020, at UP Health System, Marquette, Mich.
He was born July 4, 1953, in Lacrosse, Wis., son of Harold and Dorothy (Schultz) Hickey. Following his high school graduation, Jeff proudly served in the United States Navy as ENC for 20 years until his honorable discharge. His work in the Navy enabled him to perform similar duties working for the Union Pacific Railroad in Chicago for 23 years. Jeff married Debra Foat in 2005 in Waukegan, Ill. They resided in Kenosha, Wis. until moving to Commonwealth in 2015. He worked as the Florence County Veterans Affairs Officer for the past 2 years and presently was the Commander of the American Legion Meyers-Youngell Post #121, Florence.
Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, and the time spent with family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife, Debra, Commonwealth, Wis.; one son, Johnny and one daughter, Wanda, both of Canada; his father, Harold (Mary) Hickey, Ill.; one brother, Dave (Beverly) Hickey, Peotone, Ill.; one sister, Linda (David) Carr, Wilmington, Ill.; and by three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence, Wis. The American Legion Meyers-Youngell Post #121, and the VFW Post #3635, Florence, will accord Military Honors, Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow. Rev. Fr. Timothy Brandt will officiate.
