Obituary for Jeanette Maureen Neumann (Seitz)
Crystal Falls – Jeanette Maureen Neumann, 76, of Crystal Falls, Mich. Passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Iron River Care Center, Iron River, Mich.
Jeanette was born November 5, 1946, in Amarillo TX to the late Francis and Bernice (Ellerd) Seitz. The family moved to Oshkosh, Wisc., and then to Eau Claire, Wisc., where Jeanette grew up. She graduated from Regis High School in 1964.
Jeanette worked at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisc., before attending the nursing school program at Madison General Hospital in Madison, Wisc.
She met Jack Neumann and they were married in 1972. They lived in Madison, where both her sons were born. Later the family moved back to Eau Claire, when Jack enlisted in the Navy. The family lived in several states over the years as well as in Japan. The family landed in Pensacola, Fla., where she worked as a prenatal nurse at the Navy Hospital and the local health department. Jeanette and Jack retired to Crystal Falls, Mich., in 2009.
Jeanette was a caregiver from the beginning. She was a registered nurse for over forty years working faithfully and standing by her active-duty husband. She always found a niche wherever she was located and would help people and serve her community, leaving behind a trail of friendships and love. She was a kind, caring, and loving person, who was always willing to lend an ear to listen or a welcoming place to sit and talk. Jeanette was a devoted mother and loved spending time with her family more than anything else. Her kindness, generosity, and unconditional support set an example for her children and others for generations to come. She enjoyed watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers, loved crossword puzzles, reading, and her dog Duke. She left this world a better place.
She is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, Jack Neumann, sons, Mark (Teresa) Neumann of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Matthew Neumann of Crystal Falls Mich.; six grandchildren, Maria, Arianna, Marcus, Eleana, Christopher, and Matthew Neumann, Jr.; two great-grandchildren; four sisters; Margetta Souder, Kathy Seitz, Lisa Seitz, and Rose (Steve) Adams; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick Seitz; and mother and father-in-law Jack and Terese Neumann; and a brother-in-law.
Jeanette will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
