Niagara- Janet A. Schintgen, 65, of Niagara, Wis., passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Evergreen Assisted Living, Kingsford, Mich.
She was born August 18, 1955, in Iron Mountain, Mich., daughter of the late Anton and Marie (Raiche) Sanicki. Janet had been a long-time resident of Niagara and a graduate of Niagara High School, class of 1974. On May 24, 1975, she was united in marriage to William Schintgen at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. Janet worked at the Niagara Paper Mill for over 20 years in the office and also did bookkeeping at Shanks Bar.
She enjoyed ceramics and crafting, bowling, and especially the time spent with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Schintgen, Niagara; one daughter, Carrie (Scott) Geldmeyer, Niagara; two brothers, Jim and John Sanicki, both of Niagara; one sister, Mary Kay Paul, Kingsford, Mich.; and six grandchildren, Joseph, Justine, Emma and Ashley Geldmeyer, Connor Schintgen, and Kaleigh Atwell; many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Mark Sanicki.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by one son, Brian Schintgen.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 25, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. St. Anthony of Catholic Women will accord a memorial service at the church. Rev. Fr. Michael Lightner will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery, Niagara.
