Obituary for James D. Brault

Norway - James “Jim” Brault, 68, of Norway, Mich., our loving gentle giant, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his wife, daughter, and three grandkids by his side.

Jim was born in Iron Mountain, Mich., on October 20, 1955, to the late Gilbert and Florence (Nault) Brault.

He was raised in Niagara, Wisc., and graduated from Niagara High School, class of 1974. He worked at the Niagara Paper Mill for 34 years.

Jim enjoyed spending time taste tasting all of his wife’s baking creations and loved anything chocolate. He always wore a smile on his face no matter what health concerns he went through.

Jim was everyone’s favorite mechanic that would be there for anyone and lend a helping hand. He enjoyed taking his favorite Tahoe through the woods on a peaceful cruise. He also enjoyed fishing, and feeding all the wildlife in the area. He called them his babies. He and his wife spent countless hours cheering for their favorite drivers at the Norway speedway and traveled to different racing events in the area.

Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory, his best friend and loving wife of twenty-six years, Cindi Brault; son, Michael (Jamie Sowers) Hudecek; his favorite daughter, Becke (Matt Hillis) Hudecek; five beautiful grandchildren that meant so much to him, Harley (Fiancé Malina) Dejia, Blake, Dre, and Addison (Little Bit); and his great grandson, Easton James, Papa’s little hot rod as he called him; mother-in-law, Opal Heath; brother and sisters-in-law, Doug and Pat, Ginger and Ron, Ricky and Barb, and Heather and John; along with many loved nieces; and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kerry Brault; sister, Susie Brault; and father-in-law, James Heath.

In accordance with Jim’s wishes no formal services will be held.
