Kingsford- Inez J. Cocquyt, 90, of Kingsford, Mich., formerly of Niagara, Wis., passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Evergreen Assisted Living, Kingsford, Mich.
She was born July 3, 1931, in Iron Mountain, Mich., daughter of the late Allen and Veronica (Sherman) Raymond. Inez grew up in Pontiac, Mich., and graduated from Pontiac High School class of 1949.
Inez was united in marriage to Richard Cocquyt on May 17, 1952. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2019. Inez and Richard resided in Niagara after marriage and she worked for AT&T as a telephone operator. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Cocquyt Jr., Orlando, Florida, and Donald Cocquyt, Simi Valley, California; one daughter, Cheryl (Perry) Ellis, Kingsford, Mich.; two brothers, Jarvis Raymond and Lawrence (Linda) Sherman; sister, Kathleen (Carl) DeLorge; step-sister, Sharon (Walter) Baggett; uncle, Frank Sherman; three grandchildren, Tracy (Brandon) Rutter, Taryn (Brad) Chatel, and Marie Cocquyt; three great-grandchildren, Addison and Claire Rutter and Ava Chatel; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband Richard, Inez was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Swiastyn.
In accordance with Inez’s wishes, a graveside service will take place in the spring at the Niagara Cemetery, Niagara, Wis.
