He was born January 10, 1925, in Niagara, Wis., son of the late Adam and Apolonia (Novak) Sherman. Frank grew up in Niagara and was a graduate of Niagara High School, class of 1943. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1946. Frank returned to Niagara and worked at the Niagara Paper Mill as a supervisor for 40 years before retiring in 1987. He truly loved the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and Wisconsin Badgers. Later in life, Frank was a bowler and golfer. He enjoyed the nineteenth hole with various friends. Blueberry and blackberry picking offered summer outdoor adventures, along with taking care of his garden. His favorite holidays were Deer Season and Thanksgiving. To him, nothing was better than sitting at “RuBi Peak” hunting shack and turkey dinner.

Frank enjoyed his family time, including watching his son play football, grandchildren playing baseball/softball, or camping with his wife, Joanie. He enjoyed quality time with his family and the many special friends he met over the years. Frank had fond memories of his service time and recently provided information for a history book of the G10 base where he served in Tewkesbury, England. Frank spent over twenty years volunteering at Maryhill Manor doing pastoral care. He also became the honorary groundskeeper on Black Sam Road, enjoying the outdoors and riding the John Deere Tractor.
