Obituary for Floyd Frederick Buddenhagen
Florence - Floyd F. Buddenhagen, Sr., 96, of Florence, Wisc. formerly of West Bend, Wisc. passed away Monday, May 27, 2019, at Florence Health Services.
He was born March 4, 1923, in the town of Barton, Wisc., son of the late Arthur and Lillian (Kocher) Buddenhagen.
Floyd was united in marriage to Dorothy I. Vorpahl in a double wedding, December 23, 1944, in Fredonia, Wisc. along with Dorothy’s sister Dolores Vorpahl who was married to the late Allen E. Kertscher.
Dorothy and Floyd after many years both retired from the West Bend Company and then moved to the home, they built together in Florence for their retirement years.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Dorothy; three sons, Floyd F. “Butch” Buddenhagen, Jr., Richard (Charlene) Buddenhagen and Robert (Mary) Buddenhagen; one sister Beulah Kurtz; eight Grandchildren, Timothy (Shelly) Buddenhagen, Christopher Buddenhagen, Amy (Tim) Luft, Steven (Tracy) Buddenhagen, Megan and Malea Buddenhagen, Ann (Brian Stockinger) Buddenhagen and Julie Buddenhagen; eleven Great Grandchildren, Jordan (Laura) Buddenhagen, TyAnn and Tenley Buddenhagen, Hope and Paige Buddenhagen, Ella Buddenhagen, Joseph, Joshua and Luke Buddenhagen, Robert and Joseph Bonesteel; four sisters-in-law, Dolores T. Kertscher, Ann C. Vorpahl, Theresa Anne Brockman and Teresa C. Vorpahl. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded, Dorothy’s parents Dorothy K. and John A. Vorpahl, Sr.; one daughter-in-law Judith Buddenhagen; one sister, Bernice (Ben) Kurtz; two brothers, Ralph (Anna) Buddenhagen and Raymond Buddenhagen; seven brothers-in-law, Les Kurtz, Allen E. Kertscher, Frederick (Audrey) Vorpahl, Sr., Anthony (Louise) Vorpahl, Ronald C. Vorpahl, Gerald W. Brockman and John H. Vorpahl, Sr. and one sister-in-law Adeline (Elmer) Footland.
In accordance with Floyd’s wishes, private funeral services will take place.
