Obituary for Emily K. "Em" Irish (Weimer)

Amberg- Emily K. Irish, lovingly known as “Em,” 71, of Amberg, Wisc., passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson, Iron Mountain, Mich.

She was born January 6, 1951, in Milwaukee, Wisc., daughter of the late Alexander and Myrtle (Haertein) Weimer. Em grew up in Milwaukee and was a graduate of Pius High School, class of 1969.
She married her soulmate, Bill Irish, on June 18, 2001. They spent an amazing and inseparable 21 years together. Em and Bill made Amberg their home and enjoyed all of life’s adventures together. Emily worked in Law Enforcement Corrections for Marinette County for 17 years.

Em was a kind and loving soul who could light up any room she entered. She brought great joy to family and friends with her amazing smile and laughter. Em deeply cared about those around her and was especially passionate about her love of family, as they meant everything to her. She loved and looked forward to spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren and kept in close contact with the rest of the family. This love and compassion spilled over to the community, and she would always be the first one to assist anyone in need.

Next to her family, Em’s other passion was working in her award-winning garden and greenhouses she built and maintained with her husband, Bill. Together they made sure people in her community and surrounding areas had plenty of fresh vegetables to enjoy weekly throughout the year.

Em was a truly good and loving person who will be missed by all who knew her, especially her husband, Bill, and the rest of the family. Rest in peace, Em.

Survivors include her loving husband of 21 years, Bill Irish; one son, Rob (DeeAnne) Hamer; two daughters, Jan Hamer and Bridget (Curt) Schulz; five brothers, Mike (Kathy) Weimer, Con (Sue) Weimer, Joe (Mary Pat) Weimer, Dave (Lisa) Weimer and Kurt (Cindy) Weimer; one sister, Mary (Bob) Kelly; seven grandchildren, Brittany Hamer, Alexis Hamer, Wil Hamer, Kal Hamer, Ben Schulz, Arya Schulz, and Killian Schulz; and by numerous nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
