Obituary for Elijah S Guerrero

Kingsford – Elijah S. Guerrero, 20, of Kingsford, Mich., formerly of Pueblo, Colo., passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023.

Elijah was born on March 7, 2003, in Pueblo, Colo., to Alfonso Guerrero, Jr., and Julia (Dodge) Staton. He grew up in Pueblo and was a graduate of Pueblo South High School, class of 2020.

He was a fantastic musician mastering the guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, and drums, and he played in a worship band for a number of years in Pueblo. He enjoyed playing games, fishing, and watching his favorite team The Denver Broncos, in his free time. Having come to Kingsford, Mich., and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 2016 on vacation, he later moved here in July of 2021 with his mother and stepfather. Elijah loved his little sisters more than life itself; he was always there for them when they needed their big brother. Elijah and Hannah were like twins, he was her partner in crime, fishing partner, her best friend, and her hero. Elijah and Zoey were best friends, he cared about her with everything in him, she was his world. Elijah loved taking care of his four girls. His aunts, uncles, and cousins were of great importance to him and he shared a close bond with each of them.

Elijah was known for making friends with whomever and wherever he went and was a friend to many. He met his fiancé, Kimberley McCallister, in 2022, and privately proposed to her on June 7th, they packed a lifetime of love into that one year. He made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him, his teachers, co-workers, family, and friends. He touched so many hearts and was an absolute blessing to know.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Alfonso Guerrero, Jr., and Andrea Vigil-Guerrero; mother and step-father, Julia Staton and Nick Campos; sisters, Hannah Guerrero, and Zoey Staton; paternal grandparents, Fonso and Donna Guerrero; and many aunts; uncles; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Connie Dodge.

A Celebration of Elijah’s life will be held at 4:30 p.m., on August 17, 2023, at Eagleridge Event Center, 805 Eagleridge Blvd Ste 170, Pueblo, CO 81008.
