Obituary for Edward Glen Gorman

Edward Glen Gorman Jr, 65, of Iron River, passed away on Saturday, November 19th, 2022.

He was born March 4th, 1957 in Muskegon. Michigan with his twin sister, Glenna Wright. Son of the late Edward and Phyllis Gorman,

Ed grew up in Sagola and graduated from North Dickinson. Following graduation, Ed worked as a mechanic for over 20 years before going back to college to obtain his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in teaching. He taught Automotive Mechanics all over the country in Virginia Beach VA, Douglas AZ, and Dumas AR before coming back to the UP and teaching at Gogebic Community College and retiring in 2020. Ed enjoyed spending time with the love of his life and wife of 41 years, spending time with family, and watching Nascar, and the Detroit Lions.

He is survived by his twin sister, Glenna Wright (Tim), Iron River, Mich.; beloved wife, Gayle Gorman, Iron River, Mich.; brother-in-law, Kenny Kasten and family, Channing, Mich.; brother-in-law, Steve Smithson (Heather) and family, Fredericksburg, VA.; sons, Benjamin Kasten, Ironwood, Mich., Jason Gorman, Iron River, Mich., Edward (Angela) Gorman, Brainerd, Minn., and Christopher (Alexandria) Gorman, Ironwood, Mich.; nephew, Greg (Andrea) Wright and family, Iron River, Mich.; niece, Gina (Mike) Pokas and family, Iron River, Mich.; and April Wright, Iron River, Mich,; and grandchildren, Braden, Caden, Gavin, Kaitlyn, Oliver, Phoebe, Stephanie, Aric, Eddie, Charlie, Rory, and Ethan; best friends, Grover Munn, Painesdale, Mich., Gary Moore, Big Rapids, Mich., and Mark Silverstine, Bisbee, Ariz.

Services will be announced at a later date.

The family would like to thank all of his students and whomever he had an impact on in his life. He was a mountain of a man who will never be forgotten.
