Obituary for Douglas Richard Bablitch

Pembine - Douglas R. Bablitch, 79, of Pembine, Wis., passed away peacefully Sunday, July 19, 2020, at his home.

He was born June 10, 1941, in Stevens Point, Wis. Son of the late John and Inez (Manning) Bablitch. Doug graduated from Slinger High School, Slinger, Wis., class of 1960. He attended the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater and after his first year, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1964 returning to Wisconsin. Doug worked all of his life in retail and marketing for many corporations including, Target Corporation in St. Louis and Lewis Drug in South Dakota. Doug was the founder of Pricemart Enterprises in Minneapolis and served as the CEO and President and later continued in sales for many other retailers. Doug thoroughly enjoyed his work. He married Polly L. Bethke on June 10, 2005, in Marinette, Wis. they resided in Pembine.

He is survived by his loving wife, Polly who was the love of his life for the past 25 years; one son Douglas C. (Jana) Bablitch, San Francisco, Calif.; one daughter Michelle (Mark) McMichael, Hudson, Wis.; two brothers John Bablitch, Minneapolis, Minn., and Steven (Mary) Bablitch, Hales Corner, Wis.; four grandchildren Katie, Erin, Mia, and Sierra.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Maureen Bablitch.

A private celebration of Doug’s life will be held at Hawk Ridge, Pembine, Wis.
