Obituary for Dorothy M. Marcouiller (Yagodzinski)

Niagara- Dorothy M. Marcouiller, 88, of Niagara, Wis., passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich.,

She was born October 18, 1932, in Bark River, Mich., daughter of the late Charles and Katherine (Zemba) Yagodzinski. Dorothy grew up in Bark River and was a graduate of Bark River High School, class of 1951. On August 10, 1957, in Niagara, Dorothy was united in marriage to James E. Marcouiller. They owned and operated Marcouillers Grocery for 60 years. James preceded her in death on February 7, 2006.

Dorothy loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved people and her family. Dorothy enjoyed going to the casino and the family cottage. She had a very kind and generous heart. Dorothy fought a courageous battle with cancer and had tremendous faith in God. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include one son, Mark (Shannon) Marcouiller, Niagara, Wis.; five daughters, Brenda (Scott) Pancheri, Iron Mountain, Mich., Renee Anderson, Niagara, Wis., Robin (John) Trulock, Niagara, Wis., Tracy (Chris) Sigmon, Newton, North Carolina, and Tina (Bob White) Marcouiller, Niagara, Wis.; ten grandchildren, Brendan, Brittany, Markie, Eddie, Cory, Mariah, Tanya, Shante, J.J. and Kayla; 13 great-grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, Frank Yagodzinski; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, James, Dorothy was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Yagodzinski; one son-in-law, Donald Anderson; one granddaughter, Amanda Marcouiller; one grandson, Mathew Marcouiller; and by a special sister-in-law, Jeanette Simonis.


Visitation will be Friday, September 17, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home-Niagara Chapel, Niagara, Wis. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara, Wis. Rev. Fr. Quinn Mann will officiate. Burial will take place in the Niagara Cemetery.
