Obituary for David R. Guth

Iron Mountain – David R. Guth, 76, Kingsford, Mich., passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019, at DJ Jacobetti Home for Veterans, Marquette, Mich.

He was born August 16, 1942, in Three Lakes, Wisc., son of the late Edward and Margaret (Orr) Guth. David served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years and after being honorably discharged from the service he relocated back to the Iron Mountain area. He married Linda Scott on August 12, 1962, in Missouri.

David worked for Grede Foundry, Kingsford, Mich., for numerous years before retiring in 2006.

David enjoyed coffee, carpentry, woodworking, and the time spent with his family. He was an avid Kingsford Flivver, Green Bay Packer and Detroit Tigers Fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda; three sons, Billy (Denise) Guth, Kingsford, Mich., David (Sara) Guth, Trippstadt, Germany, and Michael Guth, Iron Mountain, Mich.; one daughter Donna (Todd) Kelly, Pembine, Wisc.; two brothers Paul (Sue) Guth, Breitung Township, Mich., and Rick (Judy) Larson, Breitung Township, Mich.; one sister Martha (Tom) Smukowski, Breitung Township, Mich.; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; best friend auntie Carol Cootware, Kingsford, Mich.; numerous foster families and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by one brother, Jim Guth; one sister Lois Peterson-Maynard, and one brother-in-law Ray Raiche

Visitation will be Saturday, June 29, 2019, 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm at Good Shephard Lutheran Church, Norway, Mich. A memorial celebration will be on Saturday, at 4:00 pm at the church. Pastor Michael Longlais will officiate. Burial will be in Dickinson County Memorial Gardens, Breitung Township, Mich.
