Obituary for Dale J. Michaud
Iron Mountain- Dale J. Michaud, 70, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021, at UP Health System, Marquette, Mich.
He was born November 11, 1950, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Thomas and Helmi (Eckloff) Michaud. Dale grew up in Kingsford and was a graduate of Kingsford High School. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army and, upon his honorable discharge, moved back to Iron Mountain. He went on to attend Northern Michigan University, where he received his mechanical certificate. Dale worked at the Oscar G Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain for many years, where he sanitized the mechanical equipment and supplies, retiring in 1995.
Dale enjoyed working on vehicles and joyriding. He was a classic car lover and attended numerous car shows throughout the Upper Peninsula and Northeast Wisconsin, and was an avid HAM radio listener. He will be missed by his family and numerous friends.
Survivors include two sons, Chris (Melissa) Michaud and Robert Michaud, both of Iron Mountain, Mich.; one brother, Dean (Kathy) Michaud, Kingsford, Mich.; and four grandchildren, Olivia, Bernard, Serenity, and Sophia.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by one brother, Lee Michaud, and one sister, Dawn Whalen.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. A memorial service will be Friday, 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Herschel Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Breitung Township Cemetery, Quinnesec, Mich. The American Legion Post #50, Iron Mountain, will accord military honors at graveside.
