Obituary for Clifford McLain

Florence- Clifford E. McLain, 83, of Florence, Wis., passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Bellin Memorial Hospital, Green Bay, Wis.
He was born May 14, 1939, in Fence, Wis., son of the late Melvin “Bud” and Mary (Majewski) McLain. Cliff grew up in Florence and was a graduate of Florence High School, class of 1958. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Cliff married Gerda (Maria) McLain in Germany. Upon the end of his military service, they moved with two of their children to Wisconsin. They had four more children following their move. Cliff later married Clara Seymour on March 8, 1980, in Rockford, Illinois. He worked as a contractor, and also as a supervisor for Pride Manufacturing.
Cliff enjoyed hunting with his children and loved watching them play sports, as well as working in his garden. He was especially fond of raising his rabbits which he did until the day of his passing. Most of all, Cliff loved his grandchildren immensely and unconditionally.
Survivors include his loving wife Clara, Florence, Wis.; four sons, Mike, Clifford Jr., Rich, and Tom McLain; two daughters, Rose Bruce and Pattie (Carl) Groulo; two brothers, John (Joan) McLain and Jim (Donna) McLain; two sisters, Donna Garcia and Nancy Darcy; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; and special friends, Pat Stroupe.
In addition to his parents, Cliff was preceded in death by one sister, Arlene Alarid.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence, Wis., The Memorial Mass, will follow on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Albert Balderas will officiate.
