Gaastra- Cindy Lou Victorovich, 70, of Gaastra, Mich., passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2022, surrounded by her family, at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson, Iron Mountain, Mich.
She was born on December 27, 1951, in Stambaugh, Mich., daughter of the late Leonard and Irene (Westerdahl) Johnson. Cindy grew up in Iron River, Mich., and graduated from Iron River High School. She married Stanley “Sta” Victorovich, Jr., on September 29, 1973, in Iron River, Mich. Following marriage, they made their home on the Victorovich Family Farm in Gaastra. Together they ran a successful dairy cow business, farmed the land, and raised their children. The couple celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary in 2021.
After high school, Cindy was employed at Pike’s Bar in Stambaugh, where she met Sta, the love of her life. Cindy was a devoted stay-at-home mom who ensured her children were well taken care of and had everything they needed. She was known for her delicious home-cooked meals and welcomed everyone into her home with open arms. Cindy loved spending time with her family, and she especially loved being with her grandchildren. Throughout the years, they had many dogs that Cindy loved to spoil. She also took pleasure in watching the wildlife, especially her birds, and she always made sure their feeders were full. Cindy took pride in maintaining their beautiful yard and flower beds surrounding the house.
Survivors include her loving husband, Sta; three sons, Jeff, Jeremy, and James (Christina) Victorovich, all of Iron River, Mich.; one daughter, Nikki (Nick) Holm of Gaastra, Mich.; five grandchildren, Colton, Cayden, Logan, Cali, and Dash; special niece and best friend, Julie Benson, of Gaastra, Mich.; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her siblings, Daniel, Wallace, Vernon, Arlette, Lovonne “Pudgie” and Glenys Johnson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Genevieve and Stanley Victorovich Sr.; and by a special niece, Jacqueline Bomaster.
In accordance with Cindy’s wishes, private family services will be held. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
