Obituary for Carole M. Langsford (Bollone)

Kingsford-
Carole Margaret Langsford, 84, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in Kingsford, Mich.

She was born July 25, 1938, in Norway, Mich., daughter to the late Mario and Clara (Stockero) Bollone. On January 26, 1957, she married the love of her life, Robert Langsford, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norway, Mich. Carole had a few jobs in her lifetime, starting with Summit Dairy, Detroit Northern Financial, Household Financial Center, and loving wife and mother to her family.

Carole enjoyed calligraphy. Following her extensive training to become a skilled left-handed calligrapher, she taught calligraphy to others. Many local businesses had her do calligraphy work for them as well. She loved traveling and would collect inkwells from the different locations she visited. Her family’s camp, Five Mile Inn, at Benton Lake was a place she loved spending time from childhood. Her family continues many traditions and tells many stories of their precious memories at the camp, of which includes sharing Carole’s love of loons on Benton Lake. She even wrote a book titled “Benton Lake History.” For hobbies, outside of time at camp, she liked to make homemade greeting cards for all occasions, belonged to a local card club and especially enjoyed playing bridge. Carole was also a member of the Historical Society and the Red Hat Ladies Group.

Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Robert Langsford; three sons, Rob (Cheryl Pietrantonio) Langsford, Steven (Gina) Langsford, Gary (Lisa) Langsford; daughter, Karen (Bruce) Powers; brother Mark (Maureen) Bollone; sister-in-law, Mary Bollone, and Terese (Bill) Higgins; six grandchildren, Christopher (Ginny) Powers, Kate Langsford, Carlo Langsford (Katie), Samantha Langsford (John), Maria Langsford (Niko), and Alexa (Ronnie) Coles; six great-grandchildren, Malakai Powers, Kalina Powers, Aubrey Langsford, Gia Langsford, Brody Langsford, and Maverick Langsford.
(Grandma) Carole loved planning family traditions with her grandchildren which included building gingerbread houses, searching for indigenous person tree markings at camp, and allowing the youngest grandchild to play “Elf” at Christmas (which was always a fight for the 2 youngest).

In addition to her parents and in-laws, Theresa and Robert (Jim) Langsford, Carole was preceded in death by her brother Doug Bollone.
