Obituary for Carol A. Hansen (Weyenberg)

Pembine- Carol A. Hansen, 74, of Pembine, Wis., passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021, at her home, after battling Alzheimer’s for 10 years with great strength.

She was born April 2, 1947, in Neenah, Wis., daughter of the late Harold and Rosanne (Siebert) Weyenberg. Carol grew up in Neenah and was employed at Gilbert paper Company in Neenah for over 20 years as a paper sorter, retiring in 2002. She married David Martin on August 28, 1965. Carol later married George Hansen on October 4, 2005, in Marinette, Wis.

Carol, along with her husband, George, enjoyed bear hunting, traveling during the winter to Texas, their Alaskan trip, her hunting dogs, and her cat. She was a selfless, caring and most compassionate person in her family’s lives. Carol loved with every inch of her body and soul, and touched every person she met in her 74 years. She will be especially missed by her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her large family.

She is survived by her loving husband, George; five sons, Joe (Kim) Martin, Menasha, Wis., John (Deanna) Martin, Neenah, Wis., Scott Martin, Neenah, Wis., Bob (Tammy) Hansen, Pine River, Wis., and Clifford Hansen, Waupaca, Wis.; two daughters, Tammy (David) Behnke, Menasha, Wis., and Tina (Joel) Nitzke, Oshkosh, Wis.; two brothers, Tom (Beverly) Weyenberg, Wausau, Wis., and Guy Weyenberg, Neenah, Wis.; five sisters, Debbie (Tom) Lotzer, Mack Ville, Wis., Teresa Martin, Neenah, Wis., Nancy (Charles) Costello, Madison, Wis., Donna McCarthy, Appleton, Wis., and June (Bill) Weber, Milwaukee, Wis., numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by two sisters, Gemma Sell and Rosalie Weyenberg.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be announced in the near future.

Carol’s family would like to thank her husband, George, for never giving up on her and keeping her home with him, and for taking wonderful care of her and loving her till her last breath.
