Obituary for Betty Jane Rosenberger (Lantz)
Rochester Hills, Mich.- Betty Jane Rosenberger went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the age of 92.
She was born Betty Jane Lantz to Conrad and Adeline Lantz in Caspian, Mich., on October 22, 1927. Betty grew up in the Caspian area with her parents until they decided to go south in search of work at which time, she moved in with her “Granny” and “Pa”. During the summers they went out to the farm to put away jars of food to be used during the year. She was an avid reader. After her senior year she attended Hillsdale college for one year. She married Calvin Trestrail on 22, 1947 and the couple moved south to the Detroit area. Calvin was earning an engineering degree while Betty was working for the telephone company, a job she really enjoyed. Calvin and Betty had three children, David, Tom, and Andrew. Tom preceded her in death. They moved frequently even spending two years in Germany. She was a member of PEO for 50 years. She loved children and made many close friends through her life.
After a divorce, Betty went back to school at Monroe Community College and graduated as a registered nurse. She worked for Hospice care and the American Cancer Society. While attending her church she met Mike Rosenberger. The two of them fell in love and were married on June 6, 1977. They were deeply in love. They lived in Michigan, Kentucky, and Florida. During this time, they both loved to travel so they did just that, traveling around the world and taking cruises. Mike preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by her two sons; David and Andrew (Laurie); her step children, David (Mary Ann) and Carolyn; five grandchildren, Cody, Courtney, Casey, Kaitlyn, and Andrew; and five great grandchildren, Brynn, Riley, Kaydree, Talon and Wren.
A graveside service will be Friday, September 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls, Mich. Rev. Doug Johnson will officiate.
