Kingsford- Bertha D. Jackson, 91, of Kingsford, Mich., passed away Friday, March 11, 2022, at Freeman Nursing & Rehab., Kingsford, Mich.
She was born February 10, 1931, in Pensacola, Florida, the daughter of the late James and Corine Lewis. Bertha attended community college to learn to solder, which led to her career with Rockwell International, where she soldered circuit boards for rockets. She later did cleaning at executive offices, retiring after a 30 year career.
Bertha was a member of Christ Temple Church in Quinnesec, Mich. She was baptized in Jesus name according to Acts 2:38, and filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. She was known as the “Church Lady and Prayer Warrior.” She was always very giving and caring for others.
Bertha enjoyed knitting and crocheting beautiful doilies and runners. She played piano and sang and was known for her mac n cheese, fried chicken, rice, and eggs.
Survivors include one son, Steven Jackson; two daughters, Teresa L. James and Yvonne (Robert) Myrvall; one brother, James Lewis; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillie Underwood and Dee Walrath.
