Florence- Barry W. Perron, 70, of Florence, Wis., passed away June 9, 2022, at his home.
He was born July 4, 1951, in Iron Mountain, Mich., son of the late Wayne and Delores (Wickman) Perron. Barry grew up in Kingsford and was a graduate of Kingsford High School, class of 1969. Following graduation, he attended Ferris State and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp, stationed in Hawaii, from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1973. Barry worked for Federal Government Forestry in the fire tower, working out of Oregon, Colorado, Arizona, and Wisconsin, until his retirement in 2005.
He enjoyed spending time at his camp in Felch and Foster City over the years, hunting and fishing. Barry was a member of the Felch Mountain Hunting group for many years and was a Ham Radio operator.
Survivors include his sister, Debra (Mike) Rodebaugh, Vermontville, Mich.
In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by one brother, Bruce Perron.
A graveside service along with full military honors will take place on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at the Felch Cemetery. The VFW Felch Breen Post #4803, will accord military honors at the graveside.
In Barry's memory, memorials can be made to the UP Veterans Memorial in Iron Mountain.
