Obituary for Barbara Ann Lefebvre (Hoag)

Iron Mountain – Barbara Ann Lefebvre, 88, of Iron Mountain, Michigan, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson, Iron Mountain, Michigan.

Barbara was born on August 26, 1935, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, to the late George and Lucy (Tramontin) Hoag.

She grew up in Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School, class of 1953.

Barbara was best known as the Queen of Grand Blvd on Iron Mountain’s Northside. She was born in a house on Grand Blvd, grew up on Grand Blvd, raised a family on Grand Blvd and lived out the rest of her life on Grand Blvd.

She had a passion for making good food, mainly Ravioli and Gnocchi, and had a talent of whipping up a great meal out of nothing. She enjoyed spending time with friends, “Coffee Clutching” with the Golden Girls, playing cards on Tuesday night and having family gatherings. She looked forward every year to Ski Jumps, having coffee and a pasty with her friends at the Sugar Shack.

She is survived by her sons, Scott (Jane) Lefebvre, Dean (Sandi) Lefebvre, and Daniel Lefebvre; daughter, Denise Lefebvre, and Patricia (Thomas) Gryske; seven grandchildren, Michael (Kerry) Gryske, Eric (Cristina) Gryske, David (Heidi) Gryske, Breanna Lefebvre, Kyle (Valeria Fuentes) Lefebvre, Thomas (Cortni Greenleaf) Lefebvre, and Jacob (Samantha Wieman) Lefebvre; several nieces; nephews; and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Alice Carlson, Jean Hoag, Kathleen Micek, George Hoag, Raymond Hoag, Ralph Hoag; and her former husband, Gerald Lefebvre.
