Obituary for Anthony F. "Tony" Aimone

Iron Mountain-Anthony F. "Tony" Aimone, age 82, lifelong resident of the Northside of Iron Mountain, Mich., was called into the arms of our Lord Savior Jesus Christ February 17, 2019.

He was born July 30, 1936, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Caesar and Flaminia “Fluff” (Palluconi) Aimone. Tony graduated from Iron Mountain High School and went on to attend Michigan Technological University Houghton, Mich. where he received his degree in civil engineering. Tony worked in Colorado and Wyoming as a civil engineer. He retired in 1998 from the Milwaukee water department. He then returned to his hometown of Iron Mountain, MI. Tony was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain, Dickinson area Paisano Club, past member of Iron Mountain Elks Lodge, and the Eagles Club.

Tony enjoyed skiing, hunting and the many good times he spent having dinner with friends at both the Holiday Kitchen and the El Capitan restaurants. He will be missed by many and will always be remembered for his generosity and kindness. "For my father's will is that everyone who looks to the son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." John, 6:40.

Tony loved spending time with his nephew, Don (Shannon) Bangert Jr., Oshkosh, Wis.; and niece Wendy (Jaret) Bangert-Sahr, Milwaukee, Wis.; and also his great-nephew, Ezra Sahr.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by one sister Candace Aimone-Bangert.

Graveside services will be Thursday, February 28, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain, Mich. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate. A Memorial Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Tony’s memory will be announced in the Spring.
