Obituary for Anna M. Isaacson (Hantula)
Anna M. Isaacson, age 78, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Monday, January 21, 2019, at her home.
She was born April 24, 1940, in Stambaugh, Mich., daughter of the late Gust and Sylvia (Lahti) Hantula. Anna grew up and graduated school in Amasa, Mich. She owned and operated her own upholstery business in Crystal Falls for many years and was proud of her Finnish heritage.
Anna was a gifted artist and enjoyed canoeing, knitting, crafting, painting, sewing, gardening, and woodworking; even building her own home and deck with her husband. She loved spending time at her camp at Fire Lake. Anna was a member of United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls. On August 29, 1959 she was united in marriage to Carl Isaacson in Crystal Falls, he preceded her in death.
Survivors include four children, Scott (Mona) Isaacson, Fall River, Mass., Gregg (Claire) Isaacson, Crystal Falls, Mich., Patty (George) Hilberg, Crystal Falls, Mich., and Kelly (Michael) Kennedy, Imlay City, Mich.; grandchildren, Erik, Ian, Matthew, Kathryn (Jon), Carlton (Jessica), Adel, Dodge, Chris (Kelsey), Adam, Anna, Isabelle, Noah and Hayden; and one sister, Ellen Curnow, Crystal Falls, Mich.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carl, Anna was preceded in death by one brother, William Gust Hantula; and one sister, Carol Johnson.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 1, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at United Lutheran Church, Crystal Falls, Mich. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
