Obituary for Daniel T. Perkins

VULCAN, Mich. - Daniel T. Perkins, 66, of Vulcan, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, in Norway.

He was born on May 26, 1949, in Green Bay, Wis. son of the late Donald and Jane (Halfpap) Perkins.

Dan grew up in many towns throughout the Midwest and graduated from Park Falls High School in Park Falls, Wis., Class of 1967. He served in the United States Navy from 1967, until his honorable discharge in 1971. Dan served on the Thomas Jefferson Submarine in the North Atlantic as a Sonar Technician. After his honorable discharge, he went on to attend the University of Wisconsin Madison, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. He worked in Madison for a few years before moving to Iron Mountain in 1994. In 2006, Dan moved to Vulcan where he worked for the City of Norway as an irrigation specialist at Oak Crest Country Club and was caretaker for the Knights Kingdom Ice Arena for years.

He was a diehard Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan and loved supporting the Chicago Cubs.

Dan is survived by his former wife, Emmy of Kingsford; three daughters, AnaRose Perkins of Kingsford, Kyla Peterson of Kingsford and Charlotte Perkins and one brother, Jim Perkins of Milwaukee, Wis.

In accordance with Dan’s wishes private family services were held.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Dan’s Legacy of Life.
