Obituary for Keith Allen King

Keith Allen  King
MANSFIELD TWP. - Keith Allen King, 82, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette.

He was born September 13, 1933, in Crystal Falls, son of the late Stephen and Adeline (Jarvis) King.

Keith grew up in Stambaugh, Mich. and graduated from Stambaugh High School, Class of 1951. He served his country in the United States Navy from April, 1952 until his honorable discharge in April, 1956. Keith married Marjorie DePotie on August 31, 1957, in Alpha, at St. Edward Catholic Church. He was a certified heavy equipment mechanic, welder and trimmed trees for Asplundh.

He enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, working on equipment, loading ammunition and shooting and was an avid “Packers Fan”; he had many talents. Keith especially loved spending time with his wife and family. He always had a smile on his face. “We were all blessed with him being part of our lives.” He was a wonderful husband and father.

Keith is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marjorie; three sons, Raymond (Carrie) King, Oregon, Robert (Amanda) King, Oregon, Brian (Jeannie) King, Iron River; one daughter, Faye (Jack) Parker, Ohio; three sisters, Karen (Richard) Groop, Williamston, Mich., Klarice Bilski, Gaastra and Kathy (Joe) Fittante, Caspian; six grandchildren, Richard Taylor, Michael Taylor, Nick Parker, James King, Brittany King and Philip King and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Audrey Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Marvin King and one brother, Kenton King.

Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home in Crystal Falls. The Eastside Veterans Council, VFW Post 2891 and American Legion Post No. 87 of Crystal Falls will offer a Pass and Review, Friday, 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be Friday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Ray Valerio will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls in the spring.
