Frequently Asked Questions
What do I do if my loved one passes away at home?
Your first step is to call the funeral home directly day or night and we will make any necessary calls to the coroner or medical examiner. (Depending on state requirements)
What happens if a loved one passes away out of state?
When a loved one passes away out of state, you can call Jacobs Funeral Homes directly. With one easy phone call to us, we will take care of everything to get your loved one home for the services per his or her wishes.
Can I have a viewing/funeral service if cremation is chosen?
Yes. Cremation can occur at any point in the funeral process. Some families choose to have a full funeral service with a visitation and a church service. Other families have a public or private visitation prior to cremation. They later hold a public memorial service when it is convenient for the family. Just as with our traditional funerals, at Jacobs Funeral Homes, we work with you to create the kind of experience you would like to have.
What do I do if my loved one passes away in the middle of the night or on a weekend?
At Jacobs Funeral Homes, you can contact us at any hour, seven days a week and someone will be available to assist you.
Is it possible to prearrange a funeral without having to prepay for it?
Yes. At any time, you can choose to come in, sit down, and get your information and wishes on file. By doing so, you can rest assured that your family will not have to guess about your wishes when you pass away. In time, you may want to come in and Pre-paying allows an individual to pay for their funeral at today's prices rather than the higher prices of the future. By Pre-Paying, you relieve your family of any financial burden at the time of your death.
