She was born on June 7, 1921, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Kathryn and Henry Tondini. Loraine was employed by the Michigan Bell Telephone Company in Iron Mountain and Marquette for many years. She married Oswald Casanova on January 15, 1946; he preceded her in death on February 19, 1993.

Loraine was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, a member of the Altar Guild, and served many years as a Eucharistic Minister and as a greeter. She also served as a member of the VFW Auxiliaries for over 50 years and contributed to the Christopher’s Society for 60 years.

She had a passion for the game of bridge and looked forward to her weekly bridge club and playing cards with her dear friends. Loraine also enjoyed watching football on television, especially if the Green Bay Packers were playing. Bird watching was also another favorite pastime of Loraine’s. As a housewife and mother, she devoted most of her earlier years to raising her children to become successful adults; an occupation she took much pride in.

Loraine leaves two sons, Michael (Diane) Casanova, Eden Prairie, Minn., John (Libby) Casanova, Newton Square, Pa.; two daughters, Louise (Dean) Holmes, Crystal Falls, Mary (Rollie) Ostermick, Talkeetna, Ala. Loraine leaves ten grandchildren, Kyle and Scott Holmes, Melissa and Megan Ostermick, Kathryn, Alesia, and Joseph Casanova, Mattie, Ben, and Hannah Casanova; and three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Holmes, Anna and Ava Holmes; many nieces and nephews.
