Niagara - James F. “Fish” Moreau, 84, of Niagara, Wis., passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara.

He was born June 25, 1933, in Niagara, son of the late Gilbert and Claire (Veeser) Moreau. Jim grew up and graduated high school in Niagara, Class of 1951. He was a lifelong resident of Niagara. Jim served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Korea. He went on to attend college at the University of WI, Oshkosh, studying to become a teacher and coach. While attending college he played both varsity football and baseball. Jim married Marilyn McMahon on April 28, 1962, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2017. Jim worked for 32 years at the Niagara Paper Mill as a #4 Paper Machine Supervisor, retiring in 1993. Jim had the privilege of working with his father, wife, brother, many other relatives and many great friends. He loved working at the mill with the great co-workers.

Jim was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Niagara, where he served as an usher, grounds crew and church board member. He enjoyed going to camp, hunting, fishing, cutting wood, telling stories, being with his friends, having coffee and oatmeal with his nephew, Mark Moreau, he was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and Milwaukee Brewers fan and enjoyed watching every game with his wife. Most of all he loved going to Beaver Dam to see his grandchildren and watch the many activities they participated in.

Jim is survived by ; two sons, James (Cory) Moreau and Joseph (Julie) Moreau, both of Deaver Dam, Wis.; five granchidlren, Morgan, Jacey, Ryan, Tyce and Levi Moreau; and by three sisters, Carol (Richard) Clement, Schofield, Wis., Elaine (Doug) St. Onge, Cudahy, Wis. and Yvonne Nabberfeld, Chelmford, Mass.

In addition to his parents and wife, Marilyn, Jim was preceded in death by a brother, William Moreau; brother and best friend, Patrick “Choppers” Moreau and by a brother-in-law, Norman Nabbefeld.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara. The American Legion Cretton-Tutas Post #136 of Niagara will accord military honors 10:45 a.m. at the church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at the Church Rev. Fr. Matt Settle will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery, Niagara, Wis.
