Darrell E. Reed
Darrell Reed, 50, of Breitung Township, passed away Saturday, November 4th, 2017, at Dickinson County Hospital, from a UTV accident on Thursday morning, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born on February 8th, 1967, the son of Eldon and Judy (Vance) Reed. Darrell graduated from Kingsford High School in 1985. Then went on to graduate Michigan Tech University and received his degree as a civil engineer in 1990. He met his wife Jodi (Pietrantonio) in Iron Mountain in 1991 through mutual friends. Darrell was diagnosed with Huntington Disease in 2012. He and his wife moved back to Iron Mountain to be closer to family and friends for support as his disease progressed. After being diagnosed he immediately joined the study in Denver Colorado where he and wife Jodi, traveled numerous times a year for testing. He wanted to contribute to finding a cure. Darrell was a very generous and giving man. He was always there to help family and friends in any way he could. We would also like you to know that Darrell gave the ultimate gift and donated to the Gift of Life.

Darrell’s passion was hunting. He loved to hunt whitetail deer and made several trips to South Dakota to pheasant hunt with his father. On the off season from hunting he enjoyed every sport imaginable. Darrell had attended the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta Georgia. He went to several U.S. Opens, Sweet 16’s, final four, and Packer games.
