Marilyn D. Moreau (McMahon)
Niagara-Marilyn D. Moreau, 82, of Niagara, Wis., passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich.

She was born August 10, 1935, in Kingsford, Mich., daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Pelot) McMahon. Marilyn grew up in Kingsford and graduated from Kingsford High School, Class of 1952. She lived and worked in the area her entire life.

Marilyn married James Moreau on April 28, 1962, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara, Wis. Marilyn worked for the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Community Federal Credit Union as manager for 13 years, retiring in 1969, at which time she stayed home to raise her family. In 1979, she went to work for the Niagara Paper Mill where she processed payroll for 20 years. She was a very active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where she taught CCD, and was a member of St. Anthony’s Council of Catholic Women. Marilyn spent her lifetime dedicated to church and many years helping and giving back to St. Anthony’s.

She enjoyed watching and listening to local sports games as well as her beloved Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Marilyn shared many weekends of her retirement with life-long friends and family on the gambling buses. She looked forward to making pasties for her children’s visits or giving them away just to help someone out with an easy meal. Marilyn loved her family deeply and knew all of her nieces, nephews, cousins and family’s birthdays by heart. Most of all, she enjoyed her time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, James; two sons, James (Cory) Moreau and Joseph (Julie) Moreau, both of Deaver Dam, Wis.; five grandchildren, Tyce, Levi, Morgan, Ryan, and Jacey; two sisters, Judy Wales and Kathy (Roger) Lindholm; two brothers, Dan (Anna) McMahon and Dave (Mary) McMahon; brother-in-law, John Givogre; and by good friend, Gina Sparapani, of Italy.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn, was preceded in death by one sister, Doreen Givogre and one brother-in-law, Tracey Wales.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Fr. Matt Settle will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery, Niagara.
