Obituary for Lois G. Steeno (Giguere)

Lois G.  Steeno (Giguere)
Niagara-Lois G. Steeno, age 89, of Niagara, Wis., passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Maryhill Manor, Niagara, Wis.

She was born January 8, 1928, in Niagara, Wis., daughter of the late Benjamin and Mildred (Erickson) Giguere. Lois grew up in Niagara and graduated from Niagara High School. She married Raymond Steeno on June 14, 1947, in Niagara. They resided in Niagara and spent their winters in Sun City, Ariz. He preceded her in death on May 13, 2009.

Lois worked as a secretary for Niagara High School, retiring after many years. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, Niagara, Wis., past member of Oak Crest Golf Course, Norway, Mich., and the Order of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies included bowling, golfing, skating, playing cards, and she had many memories of having family and friends at their cottage in Spread Eagle and their camp on County O.

Survivors include three sons, Danny Steeno, Spread Eagle, Wis., Robert (Lisa) Steeno, Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., and Rick (Lynda) Steeno, Niagara, Wis.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and four great-step-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Karen Giguere, Iron Mountain, Mich., special friend, Fred Rhodes, Maryhill Manor, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ray, Lois was preceded in death by one brother, David Giguere; and one daughter-in-law, Laura Steeno.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 12, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Henry Yoap will officiate.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Evergreen Assisted Living, Kingsford, and Maryhill Manor for their compassion and care.
