Janet S. Kelley, 80, of Florence, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017.

She was born July 29, 1936, in Florence, daughter of the late John and Martha (Witynski) Brey. Janet was a life long resident of Florence and graduated from Florence High School class of 1954. She married Edwin “Ed” Kelley on May 20, 1963 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence.

Janet was owner and served as store clerk of Kelley’s Liquor Store in Florence until its closing. She was a woman of strong faith and an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was an organist for many years there. All who knew Janet, loved her. No one ever left her house hungry or thirsty. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.

She is survived by her husband, Ed; two sons Andrew (Becky) Kelley, and Edwin (D’Nelle) Kelley, both of Florence; three daughters Susan (Joe) Mills, Jeanne (Scott) Waitrovich and Mary (Bob) Podnar all of Florence and three sisters Josephine Liebergen, DePere, Wis., Mary Pintarelli, Crystal Falls, Mich., and Bernadette Brey, Kingsford, Mich., fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph, John, Samuel, Thomas, and William Brey and one sister Ann Gribble.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2017, 9:00 am until 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 11:00 am at the church. Fr. Binu Joseph will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Commonwealth, Wis.
