Obituary for Roni M. Wagner (Markosen)

Roni M.  Wagner (Markosen)
Iron Mountain-Roni M. Wagner, 62, of Vulcan, Mich., passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich.

She was born January 16, 1955 in Milwaukee, Wisc., daughter of the late Donald and Juanita (Cary) Markosen. Roni graduated from Kingsford High School, Class of 1973. She married Richard “Rick” Wagner in 1980 in Iron Mountain. They resided in Norway and she worked for Caring Hands as a health care giver for 10 years.

Roni enjoyed photography, bird watching, spending time with her family, and the joy of her life was her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Rick; two sons, Derick (Peggy) Wagner, Marquette, Mich. and James (Mallory) Wagner, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.; three brothers, Donald, Wayne and Mark Markosen, all of Milwaukee; one step-brother, Tracy Knox, Sault Ste Marie, Mich.; four sisters, Dawn (Terry) McDonald, Sagola, Mich., Katrina Wagner, Melanie (David) Everett and Terry Derderian; and five grandchildren, Madelyn, Declan, Sophie, Peyton and Brendan.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church, Sagola, Mich. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Ryan Flunker will officiate. Burial will take place in the spring.

A memorial will be established in Roni’s memory.
