Obituary for Paul E. Erdmann

Paul E.  Erdmann
Iron Mountain-Paul E. Erdmann, 90, of Iron Mountain, was born into eternal life, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at his home.

He was born January 18, 1927 in Manitowoc, Wis., to the late Elmer and Agnes (Kolbeck) Erdmann. Paul grew up in Manitowoc and graduated Manitowoc High School. He served in the United States Army Air Force during WWII.

On October 23, 1948 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Maple Grove, Wis., he was united in marriage to Lorraine A. Strauss. They lived in Manitowoc until Lorraine’s passing on November 10, 2010. He worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 39 years, retiring in 1986. Paul moved up to Iron Mountain to be closer to family.

Paul was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he sang in the choir. He also was a member of the VFW Post #3674, Iron Mountain. Above all family is what meant the most to Paul.
Survivors include two sons; Tom Erdmann, South Haven, MI, and Mark (Jenny) Erdmann, Darien, Ill.; two daughters, Nancy (John) Selinsky, Green Bay, Wis. and Sue (Jim) Starr, Iron Mountain; one brother, Russell (Donna) Erdmann, Two Rivers, Wis.; one sister, Doris Meyer, Manitowoc, Wis.; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Erdmann, Appleton, Wis.; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Lorraine, Paul was preceded in death by one son, Jack Erdmann; one brother, Richard Erdmann and one sister, Marian Detert.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 27, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. American Legion Uren-Cooper Johnson Post #50 will accord Military Honors at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Prayers will follow at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Ray Valerio will officiate. Entombment will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Chapel Mausoleum in Manitowoc.

In lieu of flowers, memorial's may be made to the Senior Center of Iron Mountain.

Paul’s family wishes to thank the Senior Center of Iron Mountain-Meals on Wheels for watching over him and the VA Hospital for their excellent care.
