Obituary for Judith Metzing

Judith  Metzing
Judith M. Metzing, 71, of Iron Mountain, Mich. passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility.

She was born October 21, 1945 in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Willard and Mary (Briggs) Hill. She married Richard Metzing December 18, 1965 at the North Anderson Church, Anderson, Ind.

Judith was a member of the Covenant Church and the Golden K club. She was a gifted and talented artist specializing with both in acrylic and oil paints as well as sculpture work and enjoyed creative cake decorating. Judith loved to entertain making special dishes for her friends and family. She and Richard were able to visit Paris, France and toured some of the museums as well as Monet’s home.

Judith is survived by her husband of 51 years Richard, Iron Mountain; one son Darren (Carmen) Metzing, Sacramento, Ca; one daughter Shawna (Glenn) Davis, Elk Grove, Ca.; three sisters Marjorie (Mel) Johnson, Iron Mountain, Donna (Heber) Mack, Breitung Township, Mich., Nancy (Pete) D’Alberto, Iron Mountain; four grandchildren Jessica Davis, Dennis “DJ” Davis and Joshua (deceased) Davis of Sacramento, Ca, and Luna (Sierra) Metzing, both of Anderson, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at First Covenant Church, Iron Mountain, Mich. A Time of Sharing will be Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
