Condolence: Condolences to the Marana family - just heard the sad news today. Mr. Marana was truly one of a kind. When I was growing up, he was often my 'barometer' of what was right or wrong. A tough, but fair, guy who I greatly admired. Later in life, I was amazed to learn (not from Bruno) of his many accomplishments and his diversity of talents. But the thing I enjoyed most about him was his sense of humor - some of the funniest lines/stories I have ever heard! R.I.P. sir - a life well lived!

Condolence: Dear Anita, Mark, Peter and Family We were sorry to hear about Bruno. The last time we saw him was in November 2005 at an Ishpeming play off game at the Superior Dome. Our son-in-law took a photo of us talking. This photo has been hanging on the wall since that time. Bruno willingly took the opportunity to be a positive influence on the lives of many. Someone once said that the measure of one's life will be how they are remembered. Bruno will be remembered very well.

Condolence: To the Marana Family; I am sorry to hear of the passing of Bruno. I am sorry I cannot be there to pay my respects. I will always have great memories of him as Assistant Principal at Kingsford High School. He was a man's man. He cared about his students. He always wanted to talk to the students to get to know them and to know what was going on in the school. I looked forward to him pulling me out of study hall for our weekly "office meetings". We talked about life. He had so many great stories to tell and wisdom to give. He gave me tough compassion and his stiff index finger in my chest always got my attention when I screwed up. He took pride in his role. He loved his family and always spoke highly of them. My condolences to the Marana family. May god rest Bruno in peace.

Condolence: Of all the adults in my formative years, Bruno Marana had the most impact on me. As my football coach in the early 60s, he instilled a sense of maturity and responsibility that has served me well ever since. Coach, mentor, friend and role model, I treasure his memory. My sincerest condolences to his family. Godspeed, Coach.

Condolence: Great guy, I'll always remember when I first came to Kingsford to coach and teach, and one of the first guys I ran into was Bruno. He welcomed me, we talked football, he poked me in the chest in true Bruno fashion as we spoke and made me feel welcome. Glad to have known him.

Condolence From: Eric Luttinen
Condolence: Deepest condolences to the entire Marana family. While I did not get the opportunity to know Bruno very well, I can see what effects he had on people around him ... particularly Mark and Pete. If the measure of a man is how his children fare in the world, then Mr. Marana certainly did well. Again, my sympathies, Eric Luttinen

Condolence: I will always have fond memories of Coach Marana and Family as he coached our Center Line H.S. (54-"56) to a State Championship Title. It always brings a smile when I recall the Marana Family visiting me at K.I. Sawyer AFB in the early '60s. It was there that Peter and Mark played in the basement with my 3 kids (Ted, Teresa and Tom). The rambunctious 5 kept the parents busy. I will always remember a GREAT MAN.

Condolence: Mrs. Marana, Mark & Peter: It is with great sadness that I read about the passing of your Husband & Father. Thinking about seeing Bruno in the gymnasium at the Ishpeming High School, brings back wonderful memories of a man who was a great role model and a real friend to students. It was a priviledge to be a cheerleader for his teams as well as a babysitter for his two sons. My deepest sympathy to all of you as I keep you in my thoughts & prayers during this time of great loss. Rest in Peace, Mr. Marana.

Condolence: As a 1961 graduate of Ishpeming High School, Bruno Marana became a role model for me and that influence has remained with me throughout my adult life. Ishpeming High School and the greater Ishpeming community is much better today for having had Bruno Marana within its midst for the time he was there. Anita, Mark and Peter you are in my thoughts today. May you be at peace with the knowledge that your husband and father touched so many lives in a positive way.

Condolence: Bruno Marana was my football coach in the early 60's and was a man who demanded all out effort. He was well respected by those who played for him and he enjoyed being "in the thick of things" with his players. I know he will be missed by all of us who played for him and especially his devoted family. May God grant you His peace in his passing.

Condolence: My deepest sympathies to the entire Marana family on the passing of a great man. Bruno was without doubt, one of my favorite teachers and greatest influences during high school at IHS. He taught me so much about being honest, hard working and honorable. He always made it clear that he expected and respected hard work and encouraged every kid to do their very best. I feel so very blessed that he was a part of my life and that I was given several opportunities to tell him so in later years. He was and always will be the epitome of what a school administrator should be. Rest in peace Bruno.
