Obituary for Robert "Bobby" M. Porier

Iron Mountain-Robert M. “Bobby” Porier, 28, of Green Bay, Wis., formerly of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 26, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Green Bay, Wisc.

He was born January 13, 1988, in Kung Ju City, Korea. Son of Jeff and Judy (Dyer) Porier. Bobby grew up in Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School, Class of 2006.

He attended Bay West College in Iron Mountain where he received an Associate of Arts Degree. Bobby later went on to attend NWTC where he received an Associate Degree in Digital Media. He resided in Green Bay since 2008 and was employed by Sam’s Club in the electronics department.

While living in Iron Mountain, Bobby was an active member of the First Covenant Church. He played travel soccer for the Northern Stars for seven years, loved visiting Chicago, and was an avid listener of music. Bobby played the guitar, drums, wrote music, traveled to Summer Fest in Milwaukee with friends for years, and became a great photographer. He will always be known as a very compassionate person.

Bobby is survived by his parents; Jeff and Judy Porier, Iron Mountain, one brother, Andrew Porier, Iron Mountain; two sisters, Anne (Dr. Joseph) Donohue, Kingsford and Kristina (Pat Rulh) Porier, Gunnison, Colo., his girlfriend, Pamie Doran of Nevada; his grandfather, Robert (Judy) Porier, Iron River; his grandmother, Betty (Stash) Rose, Crystal Falls, his step-grandfather, Robert Martin, Western Port, Md., one niece, Evelyn Donohue, Kingsford; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, many special friends and his cats Pudder and Mela.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Malcom Dyer and grandmother, Marilyn Martin.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the First Covenant Church, Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 3:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Peter Erickson will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
