Obituary for Lyla Perkins (Nunn)

Lyla Perkins, 91, of Niagara, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015, at her home.

She was born April 8, 1924, in Ipswich, Australia, daughter of the late William and Emily (Chandler) Nunn.

Lyla grew up and graduated from high school in Australia. She married Lester Perkins on February 24, 1945, in Ipswich, Australia; he preceded her in death on July 18, 2010. Lyla and Lester started a family in Lower Michigan and moved to Niagara in 1965. They enjoyed traveling back to Australia and being in the outdoors. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and loved playing bingo.

She is survived by two sons, Allen (Julia) Perkins, Berkeley, Calif. and Otis (Ginger) Perkins, Blountsville, Ala.; one daughter, Carla (Warren) Towns, Niagara; six grandchildren, Calvin Towns, Philip Towns, Austin and Cole Perkins and Alex and Claire Perkins and three great-grandchildren, Josie, Lizzy and Kiera.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lester, she was preceded in death by one brother, Everard Nunn and one sister, Patsy Frasier.

In accordance with Lyla’s wishes private Graveside Services will be held. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery, Niagara.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara to honor Lyla’s Legacy of Life.
