Obituary for Elaine Hooser (Dennis)

Elaine Hooser, was called to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Manorcare Health Services, Kingsford.

She was born August 4, 1927, in Crystal Falls, Mich. daughter of the late Charles and Pearl (LaVigne) Dennis.

Elaine grew up in Iron River, Mich. and Iron Mountain, Mich. She married Paul “Pete” Hooser on January 1, 1975, in Lubbock, TX. They resided in Visalia, Calif. for 20 years and later in Iron River and Norway, Mich. before moving to Kingsford in 2013. Elaine owned and operated her own restaurant and later worked, 20 years, as a preschool cook before retiring.

She enjoyed sewing, bowling, playing cards, shopping and was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan. Elaine especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Pete; three sons, Mark Dickens, Calif., Kevin Dickens, Fla. and Scot Hooser; one daughter, Robyn (Russell) Bloom, Warrensburg, Mo.; one brother, Clifford (Carol) Gendron, Milwaukee, Wis.; four sisters, Mildred Jean, West Bend, Wis., Adeline Brunell, Iron River, Rachel Riverside, Iron River, and Roselind (Anton) Demboski, Quinnesec, Mich.; one brother-in-law, Robert Ketchum, Iron Mountain; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Kinney, Cleo Richard and Yvonne Ketchum and four brothers, Orville Dennis, Floyd Dennis, Charles Dennis and Leo Dennis.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Elaine’s Legacy of Life.
